Welcome
The Schweizerhaus is situated in the heart of Vienna and has for decades been the symbol of true Viennese charm and hospitality. BETRIEBSURLAUB BIS MITTE MÄRZ.
It is as much part of Vienna as the waltz, the Lipizzaner horses and of course the Prater, where you find our traditional guest house. It boasts probably the most beautiful beer garden in the city with an atmosphere of genial togherness, where all levels of society meet in friendly harmony.

Connoisseurs and lovers of beer appreciate that, for decades, a unique cult of Original Budweiser Budvar has been honoured here. Freshly drawn and carefully stored beer and the legendary Schweizerhaus „Stelze“ – rear knuckle of pork – are well known for outside the borders of Austria. Our home made fritters are a delicious and natural product and are regarded as the best in town.

Our Old Viennes Cuisine, honest and hearty recipes originating from our neighbouring countries, has long made a name tor itself. A traditional Szeged recipe for cabbabe and beef. Prague tripe soup, carp fried, the famous Wiener Schnitzel, savoury Serbian „Cevapcici“ sausages or goulash
are just some of the many regional specialities of our menu.
And what better than to enjoy all that under the shade of our old chestnut trees. A visit to the Schweizerhaus is like a holiday, an oasis of relaxation.
