Styrian weeks opens our this year's Autumn-/Winterseason
Culinary start of our Autumn Season with Styrian delicacys and exquisite wines from South- and Weststyria: Do 22.9 - So 25.9.2011 Do 29.9 - So 2.10.2011 Styrian specalties like homemade sheep's milk parfait, Styrian stewed pork cutlet, cream soup with "Schilcher" wine (typical Styrian wine), delicious meat- and fish specialties and desserts like pumpkinseed cake with stewed elderberries.
... why the Alte Kaisermühle is worth a trip in winter as well:
During the cold winter month you can reach the Alte Kaisermühle the cozy old country inn on the Old Danube, over the water with ice skates or on land by any means of transport, from public transportation to sleds. When you arrive you`ll immediately find yourself immersed in the enchanted atmosphere of the pre-yuletide outdoor dining garden which has turned into a forest of white frost covered Christmas trees. Warm your moist hands over one of the fires clackling away in their barrels, and enter the lounge with a happy heart. The Christmas decorations are hanging and the scent of winter delicacies is everywhere.
In November, you`ll be enticed by the CLASSIC ST. MARTIN`S GOOSE AND YOUNG WINE, followed by the legendary GAME WEEKS. Suddenly you will find yourself in the middle of advent, feasting forwards Christmas, far removed from the hectic place of the holiday season.
The innkeepers take January and February off, dreaming up the coming creative and culinary highlights. Starting on March 15th, the first sun beams spawn a Mediterranean atmosphere on the Fischerstrand: the Italian Weeks welcome spring, which is close at hand. The spacious garden terrace, situated directly at the water front, invites you to enjoy the famous spare ribs and fish specialities from the charcoal grill.

Ever since 1893, our restaurant is situated on the banks of the Old Danube, better known as "Franz-Josef`s-Land", emanating an everlasting royal flair. The guest garden descends to the water over three levels; sunny terraces and covered verandas let each guest find "their own special" spot. You can also approach the restaurant from the water via a small boat jetty.
The Mill was awarded the highest possible grade ("imperial") due its culinary delicacies, which are prepared on a grill in the center of the garden: spareribs and various steak specialities, lobster, gilthead bream, salmon trout, or fresh saibling (lake trout). If you don`t believe the fish are native to this water, come and experience their freshness for yourself. All the while, enjoy a refreshing pint of beer or two.
